The right aileron servo burned up after numerous flights. This article provides information on replacing the servo.
The wing is held on by what appears to be strong double sided tape. I used an X-ACTO knife to slice through the glue on each side of the plane between the Wing and Fuselage, and also the tape on the top front of the wing. This allows the wing to be moved for access to the controller board.
Per the manual EFLU6950-Manual-EN.pdf, 61135.1, we see the servo is SPMSA2030LO - 2.3g linear long throw offset servo
After removing the servo, we see the cable length on the new servo is about 4 inches short.
Also, the wire colors are different. Red, White, Black on the original servo, and Orange, Brown, Black on the new replacement servo.
This put the repair on hold. I'll make a call to support about this and provide another update when I have more to share.
Update : 10/02/2024
Support will be sending out servo extension leads that will be used to extend the cable length. It appears the original part with the longer leads is no longer available due to supply and inventory changes over time.
Update : 10/04/2024
Good news, the extensions arrived today.
Can you spot the issue I have now?
Update : 11/24/2024
I contacted Tower Hobbies and they will be sending out the correct extensions.
The package never arrived. I was tracking the package being delivered by FedEx and it made it to Syracuse. Numerous calls to FedEx were unsuccessful in locating the package and why it wasn't delivered.
Another call to Tower Hobbies and they will be sending out another shipment. Their support on this issue was superb.
I finally received the correct servo extensions,
Spektrum - SPMA2001 - Extension Lead: Ultra Micro 6"
needed to complete the repair.
The repair is on hold for now.
